Then Thickens

Then Thickens is an indie rock and alternative rock group from Chorley. Frontman Jon-Lee Martin is also known for his work in KONG, and the group begins as a home-studio project before developing into a full band.

Jon-Lee Martin forms the project after encouragement from Jorma Vik of The Bronx, and early lo-fi recordings appear online as the first sign of the band’s sound. The line-up includes Joseph Thorpe, formerly of Rolo Tomassi, on bass, and the group also includes Bobby Mambo. The band’s later sound is described as lo-fi pop mixed with American rock.

Then Thickens release the single “Restart You Heart” digitally, and the album Death Cap at Anglezarke is scheduled for release later in the project’s early period. The band also supports acts including Mariachi El Bronx and Biffy Clyro, and Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro champions them publicly, describing their music as “dirgey pop music”.
