The Weeks

The Weeks are an indie rock group from the United States, originally formed in Jackson, Mississippi in March 2006. The line-up at formation includes Cain Barnes, Chaz Lindsay, Cyle Barnes, Damien Bone and Samuel Williams, and the band starts out when the members are between 14 and 16 years old. Their sound combines indie rock with garage rock, alternative rock and southern rock.

The band signs to Esperanza Plantation and releases a debut album, Comeback Cadillac, in 2008. A second album, Rumspringa, follows in 2009. After a series of line-up changes, the group continues as a four-piece with the Barnes twins, Bone and Williams, and later relocates to Nashville, Tennessee.

In 2011 the band returns to Water Valley, Mississippi to record eight songs with Winn McElroy at Black Wings Studio. These recordings make up the 12-inch EP Gutter Gaunt Gangster, which appears on Esperanza Plantation and is later re-released through Serpents and Snakes after the band signs to the label founded by Kings of Leon.

The Weeks also tour with Junior Astronomers, Local H, North Mississippi All-Stars and The Meat Puppets. Their later album Dear Bo Jackson is part of the group’s recorded output mentioned alongside the band’s wider profile.
