The Watchmakers

The Watchmakers are a neo-psychedelic group from Manchester, active since 2013. Brothers Rich and Ian Maitland form the original core of the band, with Rich on guitar and vocals and Ian Maitland on drums. Adam Lewis, who plays guitar and keys, and Chris Lyons, on bass, later join the line-up.

Style and influences

The band works in psychedelic rock and indie-leaning territory, drawing on 1960s rock and roll as well as later psych and alternative influences. Their reference points include The Brian Jonestown Massacre, BRMC, Primal Scream and The Verve. Their sound also uses Indian drones, reverse guitar and modern synthesiser textures.
