The Temperance Movement
The Temperance Movement are a British blues rock band formed in 2011 by Glasgow-born vocalist Phil Campbell and guitarists Luke Potashnick and Paul Sayer. The rhythm section consists of former Jamiroquai bassist Nick Fyffe and Australian-born drummer Damon Wilson, who has also played with Ray Davies, The Waterboys and Feeder.
Releases
The band’s first release is the Pride EP, which appears in 2012 and includes the tracks “Ain’t No Telling”, “Only Friend”, “Pride”, “Be Lucky” and “Lovers & Fighters”. Their self-titled debut album, The Temperance Movement, follows on Earache Records and includes the five EP tracks alongside seven further songs, with two bonus tracks available on iTunes: “Mother’s Eyes” and “Already Know”. Their second album, White Bear, appears in 2016.
Live appearances
The Temperance Movement play the 2012 Sunflower Jam SuperJam at the Royal Albert Hall, where they open the event with the first two tracks from the Pride EP. They also play Futurerock at the 100 Club in London in 2012, tour the UK in 2013, and appear as the guest band before a Rolling Stones concert in Berlin in 2014. They are also confirmed for Planet Rockstock in Marrakech in 2015.
Line-up change
In 2015, founding guitarist Luke Potashnick leaves the band to focus on work as a writer and producer.
