The Stripes

The Stripes are a German punk band from Hagen, Germany, active from 1979 to 1982. The group includes Frank Röhler on bass, Rolf Brendel on drums, Rainer Kitzmann on guitar, Nena on vocals, and Jürgen Meier.

Background

The band forms in Hagen and sings exclusively in English. Nena Kerner, who later forms the band Nena, is the vocalist. Rolf Brendel also later joins Nena, and Rainer Kitzmann plays guitar in the group. The band releases four singles before splitting up.
