The Staves are a UK folk rock trio from Watford, England, made up of sisters Camilla Staveley-Taylor, Emily Staveley-Taylor and Jessica Staveley-Taylor. They are active from 2010 and perform as a group, with genres spanning folk, folk rock, indie folk and singer-songwriter music.

Background

The three sisters have music-making together since childhood. They grow up in Watford, where their singing is shaped by a home listening culture that includes Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills & Nash and The Beatles. Their vocal style centres on three-part harmony, which becomes a defining feature of their sound.

Career

The Staves begin by playing local pubs and cafes, before moving on to larger stages. Their live shows are noted for close vocal interplay and songs focused on love and longing. Their Mexico EP is issued through Atlantic Records.
