The Soil is a South African a cappella vocal group from Johannesburg, active since 2003. It performs as a choir and is associated with a cappella and African vocal music, with its sound described by the group as “Kasi Soul”.
Membership and line-up
The group presents itself as a four-member act, with the first member existing in a spiritual form as the Creator of all. The three physical members are Buhlebendalo Mda, Luphindo Ngxanga and Ntsika Fana Ngxanga. The group is also occasionally supported by two backing vocalists, Asanda and Tshwarelo.
