The Shoes are a Dutch beat and pop group from Zoeterwoude in the Netherlands, active from 1963 to 1975. They begin as The White Shoes in 1963 and are fronted by Theo van Es. The group members listed are Jan Heemskerk, Henk Versteegen, Jan Versteegen and Wim van Huis.

History and chart success

The Shoes build a profile in the Dutch singles charts in the 1960s with songs such as Na na na, which reaches number 6 in 1967, and Don't You Cry For A Girl, which reaches number 5 in 1968. The group splits up in 1971, then returns in 1973 and continues until Theo van Es leaves for a solo career under the name Theo Vaness in 1978. The band also reunites several times in the 1980s.
