The Rubberbandits
The Rubberbandits are a comedy hip-hop duo from Limerick, Ireland, made up of Blindboy Boat Club and Mr Chrome. They work mainly as a satirical stage and television act, combining rap, comedy and hip-hop performance.
Performance and touring
The group performs across Ireland, the UK and the USA. Their shows have appeared at events including Electric Picnic, Oxegen and the Bulmers International Comedy Festival.
Television and commissions
The Rubberbandits are commissioned for television work by RTÉ, MTV and Channel 4. Their Channel 4 shorts are directed by Declan Lowney.
Awards and releases
The group wins awards for both music and comedy. In 2011, they are named Best Irish Act at the entertainment.ie awards, ahead of Villagers, Fionn Regan and The Script. They also receive an IFTA award for television work. Their debut album, Serious About Men, is released in 2011.
