The Rifles

The Rifles are an English indie rock band from Chingford, London, formed in 2004 and active from 2004 to the present. Their sound is influenced by The Clash, The Jam and 1990s Britpop. The band’s line-up includes Joel Stoker, who sings and plays guitar, along with Lucas Crowther on vocals and guitar, Robert Pyne on bass guitar and Grant Marsh on drums. Earlier in the band’s history, Lee Burgess and Kenton Shinn from Garda join the group in 2011, and Pyne and Marsh are listed among the original members who later reunite with the band.

Albums and chart positions

The Rifles release six albums, alongside three acoustic albums and one live album. Their debut album, No Love Lost, reaches number 26 in the UK albums chart, while their highest-charting single, Repeated Offender, reaches number 26. Their second album, Great Escape, reaches number 27 in the UK chart and number 2 in the UK indie chart, with Fall To Sorrow issued as the first single from it. Their third album, Freedom Run, follows in 2011, and None the Wiser appears in 2014 and peaks at number 21 in the UK charts.
