The Rah Band

The Rah Band is a studio project created by Richard Anthony Hewson, whose initials form the name RAH. It is presented as a fictional group in the sense that it consists of Hewson alone. He works from the UK and records across disco, funk, electronic and synthpop styles.

Career and releases

In 1977, Hewson writes and performs the instrumental The Crunch entirely by himself, playing all the instruments. The track reaches number 6 in the UK Singles Chart. The project’s second major hit is the soul ballad Clouds Across the Moon, which also reaches number 6 in the UK chart in 1985. That recording is made with his wife.

Over the years, The Rah Band releases five records. In 2007, Hewson issues a remixed version of Clouds Across the Moon, titled Clouds Across The Moon '07, which features vocalist Emma Charles.
