The King's Parade

The King's Parade is a UK music group that has been active since 2012. The band forms at the University of York, where Olly Corpe and Sam Rooney meet at an open mic night in 2009. They play around pubs and clubs in York before expanding into a four-piece with the addition of Chris Brent on drums and Tom English on bass.

The group develops a reputation in and around York for a sound that combines pop and soul, with clear Motown-era influence. Their music is marked by strong vocals and detailed instrumentation. Releases associated with the band include Vagabond, New Roots and Belsize Lane, which together generate more than 130,000 track plays after going live in 2012. The band later moves to London and continues its work there.
