The Insiders

The Insiders are a UK drum and bass duo made up of Ben Soundscape and Joe Wills, also identified as Ben Payne and Joe Wills. They work in liquid funk and soulful drum and bass, and are based in the United Kingdom.

Releases and labels

The duo release music on a range of established drum and bass labels, including Renegade Recordings, Metalheadz, Creative Source, 31 Records, Defunked, Nu Directions, Integral, Frontline and Good Looking, where they appear under the name Catch 22. Their tracks also appear on labels such as Prestige Music, Mac II and Rubik. Their work includes releases through Intrigue Music, a label set up by Ben Soundscape in 2009 for their deeper style of drum and bass as well as music by both new and established producers.

Recognition and radio support

Their tracks receive support from DJs including Fabio, LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Storm, A.I., Lynx and DJ Marky. They also receive airplay on BBC Radio 1.

Performances and residency

The Insiders play DJ sets at events and festivals including Miami Ultra Week, Glastonbury Festival, Sun & Bass and Bristol Festival. They also perform internationally in the USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, Norway, France, Holland, Italy, Poland and Switzerland. Their main residency is at Intrigue, a drum and bass club in Bristol.
