The Guru Guru
The Guru Guru are a noise rock group from Hasselt, Belgium, active since 2011. The band line-up includes Tom Adriaenssens, Moreno Claes, Brent Mijnendonckx, Siemon Theys, Emiel Van Den Abbeele and Jan Viggria.
Style and influences
The band plays noise rock with elements of psychotic rock. Their sound draws on influences associated with Sonic Youth, METZ, Pere Ubu, Melt-Banana and Deerhoof, combining nervous guitar lines, forceful vocals and tightly driven drums.
Releases
In spring 2014, The Guru Guru release a self-titled EP containing five songs. The record establishes the restless, abrasive style that also characterises their live performances.
