The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster

The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster are a rock band from Brighton, England, formed in 1999. They are also referred to as Eighties Matchbox. Their sound is described as dark, blues-influenced rock with wild vocals and deep basslines, and they refer to it as psychosis rock.

Line-up and history

The band includes Guy McKnight, Andy Huxley, Marc Norris, Sym Gharial and Tom Diamantopoulo. In May 2005, Andy Huxley leaves the group because of a decrease in musical similarities and is replaced by Rich Fownes. The band announces in 2011 that it is disbanding, then reforms in 2012 with original founding members Huxley and Norris and plays three shows. In 2013, the band announces another split, saying that it has not found shared musical common ground while recording new material and does not have the strength to continue. After that, members work individually on future projects.
