The Dogs

The Dogs are a punk band from Los Angeles, United States. They form around 1969 in Lansing, Michigan, before moving to Los Angeles in 1976, where they become part of the early LA punk scene. Their sound is shaped by the MC5, the Stooges, the Amboy Dukes and Alice Cooper, and they are noted for playing very loud through Marshall stacks.

Background

The group begins in Lansing with a proto-punk approach that links them to the hard-edged rock that feeds into later punk. After relocating to Los Angeles, they establish themselves in the city’s early punk environment. Their place in that scene is a key part of their history.
