The Damned Things
The Damned Things are an American hard rock supergroup formed in 2009. The group brings together Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley from Fall Out Boy, Keith Buckley and Josh Newton from Every Time I Die, and Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano from Anthrax. Later membership also includes Dan Andriano.
Style and influences
The band works across alternative rock, hard rock, metal, rock, southern metal and southern rock. Their early sound is described as blues-oriented and riff-led, with heavy and classic rock elements. It also combines the heavier side of Anthrax and Every Time I Die with the hook-based choruses associated with Fall Out Boy. Joe Trohman cites Thin Lizzy and Led Zeppelin as influences on the project.
Albums
The Damned Things release their debut album, Ironiclast, through Island Records in 2010. The band name is taken from a phrase in Ram Jam’s 1970s version of “Black Betty”.
