The Cubical

The Cubical are a group from St Helens, United Kingdom, based in Liverpool. They play blues-based rock with garage and psychedelic elements, and their music is shaped by references to Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa and Tom Waits. Their sound combines Telecaster guitar, harmonica, bass and drums with a distinctive blues vocal style, and their live performances are described as intense and theatrical, with a strong focus on dancing, movement and audience engagement.

Frontman Dan Wilson leads the group and is noted as a performer and lyricist. The Cubical’s debut album, Come Sing These Crippled Tunes, is recorded at Sunset Sound Studio in Hollywood and produced by Dave Sardy. Sardy is a Grammy-winning producer known for work with Oasis, Johnny Cash, Primal Scream and Marilyn Manson. The album receives critical attention, and the follow-up It Ain't Human is released on Halfpenny Records, Cargo and Grabaciones de Impacto in the UK and Europe, on Fuse in Australia, and on Record Collection in the United States.

Tours and collaborations

The band tours internationally, with dates in the USA, Australia, Germany, Norway, France, Spain, Ireland, Holland and the Czech Republic. They also perform alongside artists including Bob Dylan, Kiss, The Black Lips, Blondie, Chris Isaak and The Magic Band.
