The Commercial Hippies , (Anton Raubenheimer and Gareth Tacon), started their musical history together, DJing breakbeat at various parties, in and around Cape Town South Africa.
After a couple years of DJing, the two (garethT & Anton) decided to try their hand at producing and soon after the concept of The Commercial Hippies was born.
Their first track Where dreams come from received a great response from trance lovers around the world and instantly caught the attention of many a psy-trance ear. The track formed part of the "Clarity" (Nano Records) album, released in 2003.

Since the early days , The Commercial Hippies has grown from strength to strength and released a number of extremely well received tracks, such as Dr. Freakenstein, One Step and When the shit hits the fan, to name but a few.
They released their intricately detailed debut album "If You Can't Stand the Heat..." in 2006, on Nano Records and have been performing on the world stage ever since.
Their second album entitled "From Beyond", was released in July 2009.
