The Comet Is Coming

The Comet Is Coming is a London-based group made up of Betamax, Danalogue and Shabaka Hutchings. Active from 2013 to 2023, the group’s music combines jazz, jazz fusion, electronica, electronic and funk, with additional elements of psychedelic rock and space rock.

The band first records for The Leaf Label. Its debut EP, Prophecy, appears as a limited-edition 12-inch release, and the full-length album Channel the Spirits follows soon after. Channel the Spirits is nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2016. In 2018, the group signs with Impulse!.
