The Cast of Cheers

The Cast of Cheers are an Irish indie rock band from Sligo and Dublin. They form in 2009 in Dublin and are active from 2009 to the present. The group is a four-piece made up of Conor Adams, Neil Adams, John Higgins and Kevin Curran.

Formation and line-up

The band begins with lead vocalist and guitarist Conor Adams and bassist and vocalist John Higgins, who form the group in Dublin. Kevin Curran joins on drums, and after the recording of the debut album, Conor Adams's brother Neil Adams joins on guitar for live performances. Conor Adams is the only named member in the verified details, and the band is described as an Irish four-piece.

Sound and releases

The Cast of Cheers are described as an indie and math rock act, and also as indie rock. Their first album, Chariot, is released in February 2010 on Bandcamp as a free download. It receives more than 150,000 downloads. Their second album, Family, is produced by Luke Smith, formerly of Clor, and released through Schoolboy Error and Co-Operative Music. It enters the Irish Album Chart at number 37.

Recognition and live work

The Cast of Cheers receive a nomination at the Choice Music Awards for Chariot. They also support Blood Red Shoes, Howler, Bloc Party, Alt-J, Two Door Cinema Club and Bombay Bicycle Club.
