The Buoys
The Buoys are a pop rock group from Pennsylvania, United States, associated with 1970s progressive rock. The group includes Jerry G. Hludzik, Carl Siracuse and Bill Kelly.
Career
The best-known version of The Buoys is the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania band that scores a top-20 hit in 1971 with “Timothy,” followed by “Give Up Your Guns.” “Timothy” is a novelty song written by Rupert Holmes and becomes an unusual hit for the band.
Music
Although the group is identified with pop rock and 1970s progressive rock, it is also associated with rock, classic rock, garage rock and oldies in later descriptions. Its catalogue centres on the hit single “Timothy” and the follow-up “Give Up Your Guns.”
