The Beatdown

The Beatdown is a ska group from Montréal, Canada, active since 2009. It forms around singer and guitarist Alex Giguere, who starts the project after a break for The One Night Band. He works with bass player Pascal Lesieur, ex-drummer Nicolas Fizzano and longtime friend Jovanny Savoie.

Style and background

The group plays reggae and ska, with soul overtones and a punk edge. Its material grows out of a strong interest in Jamaican music, and the project presents a more personal and introspective direction for Giguere after his work with The One Night Band.
