The Arusha Accord
The Arusha Accord are an experimental, mathcore, post-hardcore and progressive metal group from Reading, England. They form in 2005 and remain active.
Background
The band begins as a six-piece and develops a sound shaped by the chaotic energy, speed and complex time signatures associated with acts such as Sikth, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Tool. They build their early reputation in the UK metal scene over the following years and, by late 2007, attract attention within the underground circuit.
Recordings and releases
Basick Records signs the group after their breakthrough. They record the Nightmares Of The Ocean EP at Outhouse Studios in Reading with John Mitchell, who has worked with Funeral For A Friend and Enter Shikari. The EP is described by bassist Luke Williams as the end point of a three-year period in which the band write a large amount of material and refine it into five tracks.
The Arusha Accord release their first full-length album, The Echo Verses, in 2009.
Live activity
The band share stages with Architects and Johnny Truant, and they also gain support from Sikth and The Dillinger Escape Plan, two of the groups that influence them.
Members
Paul Green and Sam Machin are among the members associated with the group.
