Tha Alkaholiks, also known as Tha Liks, are a hip hop group from Los Angeles, United States. They are active from 1992 to 2002 and are associated with West Coast hip hop and hip hop.

History and lineup

The group starts as a trio in the early 1990s and centres on DJ and producer E-Swift, with rhymes from J-Ro and Tash. E-Swift is born Eric Brooks in Columbus, Georgia and raised in Toledo, Ohio. J-Ro is born James Robinson in Los Angeles, and Tash is born Rico Smith in Cincinnati. The verified lineup also includes King T.

Style and reception

Tha Alkaholiks make party-oriented hip hop with a hardcore edge. Their sound is driven by E-Swift’s production and the pair of rappers at the front of the group. Although they do not achieve broad commercial crossover success, they build a strong following on the West Coast, across the United States and internationally.

The group appear on Loud Rocks with the track “Daaam!”, which features Finger Eleven.
