Career
After moving back to Toronto, she forms a psychedelic backing band called The Good People. She plays solo for four years and describes her songs as lo-fi alternative drones with a hypnotic feel. Her music is described as scuzzy, downbeat psychedelia, with comparisons to Mazzy Star and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. She names Elliott Smith among her influences and also cites the Dandy Warhols as friends. Her wider listening includes Bob Dylan, Nirvana, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Oasis, the Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine.
Industry connections
While in London, she meets Alan McGee and stays in touch with him.
