Temic

Temic is a progressive metal and progressive rock project formed by keyboardist and sound designer Diego Tejeida, guitarist Eric Gillette, drummer Simen Sandnes and vocalist Fredrik Klemp. The group is signed to Season of Mist and managed by Glassville Music. Its music combines progressive metal with strong electronic influence, arranged for a modern prog rock and metal line-up with a focus on pulse and vocal melody.

History

The origins of Temic date back to 2017, when Tejeida and Gillette tour together as members of Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress. After working together on the road, they begin discussing the idea of starting a new band. Those plans are delayed by touring and recording commitments, but in 2020 Tejeida contacts Gillette again and the first demos for the band begin to take shape.

The project develops into Temic’s debut album, Terror Management Theory, which appears in 2023. Tejeida and Gillette then bring in Sandnes as drummer, and Sandnes recommends Klemp as vocalist. To complete the album’s rhythm section, bassist Jacob Umansky of Intervals joins as a guest player.
