Tapeworm
Tapeworm is the name used by more than one group, but it is most prominently associated with a United States industrial and experimental side project and supergroup linked to Nine Inch Nails. That version is active between 1995 and 2004 and does not release any recordings. Only a small number of song titles are revealed over time, and several Tapeworm songs are later repurposed or covered by Renhölder, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer.
Membership
The project involves a rotating lineup of musicians and producers from related rock and alternative acts. Named participants include Phil Anselmo of Pantera, Down and Superjoint Ritual; Charlie Clouser of Nine Inch Nails; Josh Freese of A Perfect Circle, The Vandals, Nine Inch Nails, Guns N' Roses and Black Light Burns; Toni Halliday of Curve; Page Hamilton of Helmet; Maynard James Keenan of Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer; Danny Lohner of Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle and Black Light Burns; Alan Moulder, credited as a producer and associated with Nine Inch Nails and Smashing Pumpkins; Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails; Atticus Ross of 12 Rounds and Error; and Tommy Victor of Prong and Danzig.
Other uses of the name
There is also a Connecticut punk band called Tapeworm, which releases a 7-inch record in 1978 and later appears on the Killed by Death compilation number 9. In addition, the name is used for a trance project led by Frank Hernandez and Oliver Braun, and for a two-piece anarchist folkcrust band from Vancouver, Canada.
