Tamera is a London-based singer and songwriter from Gravesend, Kent. Born in 1997, she grows up just outside London and later moves into the city, where she develops her recording and writing style.

Background

She is also known as Tamera Foster. Her early musical influences include Whitney Houston, James Brown, Missy Elliott and Mariah Carey. These artists shape the sounds she listens to while growing up in Kent.

Writing and style

In 2017, Tamera leaves the suburbs for London and begins adjusting to a new way of life. Separated from friends and family, she turns to songwriting as a private outlet, writing about the difficulties of life and love as a young adult. Her songs take the form of diary-like reflections, and this process helps her hone both her sound and her writing.
