Switch Technique is the recording name of Dominik Piechocki, a drum and bass producer from Pniewy, Poland. Born in 1983, he comes out of the Polish drum and bass scene and becomes known as one of its leading figures.

Background

Piechocki begins making music in 1999 after hearing the soundtrack to the game Extreme-G 2, which introduces him to drum and bass. He starts experimenting with software and broken sounds in search of a distinctive beat, and that process shapes his individual production style.

Style and sound

Switch Technique’s productions are energetic and generally aimed at the dancefloor. His harder tracks draw on hardcore influences, while his broader approach combines hardcore and drum and bass. He also works with techstep and darkstep, interpreting regular drum and bass in a harder direction.

Releases and recognition

He has been active for more than a decade and releases a number of tracks that are played by well-known DJs including Evol Intent, The Panacea, Limewax, DJ Hidden, Eye-d and Masheen. His solo and collaborative releases build his reputation for a heavy, hard-edged sound.

Label work

Switch Technique is a co-owner of UNION Recordings, a label that features releases from him as well as artists including The Outside Agency, Machine Code, Current Value, Dean Rodell, Cooh, Lethal and Lucio De Rimanez.
