Suuns

Suuns are a Canadian rock band from Montréal, active since 2006. The group consists of Ben Shemie, Joseph Yarmush, Max Henry and Liam O'Neill.

Their music combines art punk, art rock, electronic music, krautrock, pop and post-punk, with a sound built around minimalist rhythms, droning guitars and pulsing synths. Their style draws on art rock and has clear links to Joy Division, Suicide and Can. Ben Shemie contributes breathy, spoken and sung vocals that give the music a tense, uneasy character, while the band also uses restraint rather than constant intensity.

Suuns are associated with experimental, psychedelic and indie rock as well as electronic music, and their work is often described in terms of its dark post-punk atmosphere.
