SURFBORT
SURFBORT is a Brooklyn punk rock band from the United States. The group centres on vocalist Dani Miller and drummer Sean Powell, with the line-up also including guitarist Alex Kilgore and guitarist David Head. Their music draws on the 1980s punk scene and is described as abrasive, feedback-heavy and guitar-driven, with a confrontational live style.
The band releases material through independent labels including HoZac Records and Cult Records. Among their recordings are Bort to Death, a four-track 7-inch release, and Romance, a two-track flexi release. Cult Records signs the band after Julian Casablancas notices their live energy.
SURFBORT tours widely and supports a range of other punk and indie acts, including The Dickies, Thee Oh Sees, Fat White Family, White Fang, Martin Rev, The Garden, Tijuana Panthers, The Mystery Lights, Tomorrows Tulips, Sunflower Bean, DIIV, GOGGS, The Dune Rats, Leftover Crack, Meatbodies, Ex-Cult and Hinds. The band also tours with The Black Lips and plays Coachella. Their stated aim is to oppose intolerance and promote a sense of welcome and community among their audience.
