Superfood
Superfood are a Birmingham indie rock band from the Midlands. They are a quartet fronted by Dom Ganderton, who also works in music production. The group forms around a classic college-rock style, played with a sharp and forceful sound.
Early releases and live reputation
Superfood first build attention from an early self-titled demo and from their live performances. Their shows develop a reputation as intense and tightly delivered, and they become a notable name in venues and on blogs across the UK and beyond. The band also releases the Superfood Demo in 2009.
Recorded output
The group releases Bubbles/Melting in December and follows it with a debut EP in February 2014. Their early recordings and performances position them as part of the renewed interest in British guitar music.
Style and background
The band comes out of warehouse party culture in their native region before they have a name, and their music carries that energy into a more polished indie rock framework. Their sound is rooted in British guitar music and draws on a college-rock template shaped into a brisk, lively form.
