SupaJamma

SupaJamma is a Manchester band led by Martin “Sugar” Merchant, formerly the frontman of Audioweb and the Sugar Merchants. He also sings with the UK reggae sound systems Saxon Sound System and Maverick Sound System. The group also includes Steve Wilson, who previously fronts Smile Like Fools and Wilson.

The band draws on rock, punk, electro, dub and hip hop, combining those styles into a mix that includes hard grooves, soulful melodies and ragga-influenced anthems. Their early singles include “Madaboutit”, which reaches the Kerrang! playlist, and “It’s Alright”, described as a more restrained track.

SupaJamma release the mini-album That Was Then, This is Now on Stereokill Recordings, with worldwide distribution through US label 24Hour Service Station.
