Subversion
Subversion is a French progressive rock group that forms in the mid-1970s and releases a self-titled LP. Its music moves through a wide range of styles, with passages that draw on early symphonic rock, Floyd-like atmospheres, lounge jazz rock, pop prog in the style of Ame Son and Total Issue, gypsy jazz, and abstract electronics. The result is described as deliberately unsettled rather than tied to a single sonic identity.
1970s French progressive rock
The band comes from France and belongs to the 1970s progressive rock scene. Its one eponymous album presents a changing, multi-part approach rather than a consistent genre template, shifting between pastoral symphonic textures, jazz-influenced sections, and electronic experimentation.
