Stoned Jesus
Stoned Jesus is a Ukrainian stoner metal band from Kyïv, Ukraine, active since 2009. It begins as Igor Sydorenko’s Krobak side-project and develops into a full-time group focused on the heavier, darker side of rock music.
Style and development
The band starts with sludge and post-metal ideas and later moves towards stoner rock and traditional doom metal. Its sound is associated with early Black Sabbath, the later period of Electric Wizard and classic Sleep. The group’s listed genres include doom metal, psychedelic, stoner metal and stoner rock.
Releases and activity
After its debut First Communion, the band plays numerous concerts in Ukraine. Following a lineup change, it releases the EP Stormy Monday.
Members
The line-up includes Igor Sydorenko on guitars and vocals, Sergey Olegovich on bass and backing vocals, and Viktor Kondratov on drums. Former members include Nikolay Solyar on bass, Alexander Siriy on drums, and Vadym Matiiko on drums and backing vocals.
