Steamchicken

Steamchicken is an English ceilidh band active since 2000. The group performs as a septet, with harmonica and mandolin at the front and support from bass, piano, drums and a three-piece horn section. Its music brings together jazz and blues with the dance traditions associated with Playford and Sharp, and it also draws on skiffle, rhythm and blues, jump bands, radio entertainment and television themes, as well as familiar family tunes.

The band has a reputation at festivals and dance clubs and is described as one of the most in demand English ceilidh acts.
