Staunch

Staunch is a Brisbane-based Australian group associated with glitch hop, hardcore, hardcore punk and metal. It is a collaborative project formed by two producers, James Hayes, who records as Shadow Fx, and Algenon Renton, who also uses the names Positive Thought and Yeti among others.

The project focuses on bass-heavy, riff-driven downtempo beats. Its name reflects the idea of combining different elements into one act, and it sits within the wider context of 1990s Australian punk and related heavy electronic sounds.
