Starsailor

Starsailor are an English alternative rock band from Wigan, formed in 2000. The group consists of James Walsh on guitar and vocals, Ben Byrne on drums, James Stelfox on bass and Barry Westhead on keyboards. Their sound is associated with post-Britpop, alternative rock, piano rock and rock.

The band is best known for the 2003 single “Silence Is Easy”, which reaches number 9 in the UK, and “Four to the Floor”, which reaches number one in France and the top five in Australia. Starsailor have ten UK Top 40 singles and five studio albums.

Their debut album, Love Is Here, appears in 2001, followed by Silence Is Easy in 2003 and On the Outside in 2005. After All the Plans in 2009, the band enters an extended hiatus while the members work on individual projects. They reunite in 2014 and resume live activity worldwide. A greatest hits collection, Good Souls: The Greatest Hits, appears in 2015 and includes two new songs. Their fifth studio album, All This Life, appears in 2017.
