Stardeath and White Dwarfs

Stardeath and White Dwarfs is a psychedelic and experimental rock group from Norman, United States, active since 2004. The band forms in Oklahoma City in late 2004 and releases its debut EP in spring 2005.

Line-up

The group includes Dennis Coyne, Matt Duckworth and Josh Jones. Earlier membership includes Casey Joseph and Philip Rice. Dennis Coyne is the nephew of Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips.

Recordings and collaborations

In 2009, the band releases its first full-length album, The Birth, recorded with Trent Bell, who is associated with Chainsaw Kittens. That same year, the group works with The Flaming Lips and other artists on a remake of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon.

Style

The band’s sound is described as genre-crossing, with psychedelic, progressive rock and indie rock elements.
