Stake

Stake is a Brussels-based Belgian trashmetal and hardcore group that forms in 2000. The band is the reincarnation of Belgian post-metal band Steak Number Eight, and all of the group’s albums are now listed under the Stake name on streaming platforms.

Background and style

The band describes its music as “atmospheric grunge core”. Its sound is also associated with sludge metal, grunge, noise rock and post-metal. The move from Steak Number Eight to Stake is presented as a new chapter with a grunge-influenced form of melodic post-metal, while keeping the original line-up intact.

Releases

Under the Steak Number Eight name, the band releases four albums. Under the Stake name, it releases Critical Method and Love, Death and Decay.
