Spinnerette

Spinnerette is an alternative rock project formed in Los Angeles, United States in 2007 around Australian musician Brody Dalle, who is best known as the vocalist and guitarist in The Distillers. Dalle presents the project as a flexible collaboration rather than a fixed band, working with different musicians as needed.

Line-up

The group includes Tony Bevilacqua, Jack Irons, Alain Johannes and Nicole Fiorentino. Bevilacqua is also associated with The Distillers, while Irons has played with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam and Eleven, and Johannes has worked with Queens of the Stone Age and Eleven.

Releases

Spinnerette issues material through its own outlets and released the digital EP Ghetto Love in 2008. The EP contains four tracks: “Ghetto Love”, “Valium Knights”, “Distorting a Code” and “Bury My Heart”. A video was made for “Ghetto Love”, directed by Liam Lynch.

The project’s debut album Spinnerette becomes available for streaming on MySpace before its release and is issued in the UK and US in June 2009. The first single from the album is “Baptized By Fire”, for which a video is shot.

Dalle also announces a solo release under her own name, Brody Dalle, in 2012.
