Spikedrivers

Spikedrivers are a UK acoustic blues band formed in 1992. The group is based in North London and is a trio made up of Ben Tyzack, Constance Redgrave and Maurice McElroy. Tyzack plays guitars and harmonica and provides the main vocals. Redgrave plays bass guitar, sings and adds percussion. McElroy plays drums, udu drum, cajon, percussion and vocals.

Ben Tyzack forms the band after returning to London from the United States. The line-up changes several times in the early years, then settles in 2000 when Redgrave and McElroy join. From that point the trio remains stable.

Recordings

The band releases a number of CDs, including Delta Roots in 2001, Blue Trash in 2003, Ain't It Real in 2005 and Live At High Barn in 2008. Earlier releases include Delta Boogie and Whisky River Blues, and a compilation of the original songs is planned for release in 2008.
