Sophie Barker

Sophie Barker is a London-born UK electronic vocalist and singer-songwriter, born in 1971. She is best known for her work with the British downtempo group Zero 7.

Zero 7

Barker co-writes and sings on some of Zero 7’s best-known recordings. She co-writes the group’s biggest hit, “Destiny”, which she performs with Sia. She also co-writes and sings “In the Waiting Line” and “Spinning” on the album Simple Things, which sells more than one million copies worldwide. On the follow-up album When It Falls, she contributes as co-writer on “Passing By” and “In Time”.

Solo work

Barker releases a solo album, Earthbound, in 2006. She also releases Lullaby, an album of soothing night-time songs for children.
