Solomun

Solomun is Mladen Solomun, a house and electronic music artist born in 1975 in Travnik, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is raised in Hamburg and works as a producer and DJ, with his name associated particularly with deep house, house, EDM and electronic music.

Career

He plays a major role in redefining European house music through productions, remixes and DJ sets that reshape house elements with a modern approach. He is known as an underground producer before his wider rise in popularity, and his work regularly places highly in readers’ polls in music industry magazines.

His wider breakthrough begins in 2012, after a first season in Ibiza with his Diynamic Neon Nights events at Sankeys. That period leads to awards including Best Producer at the DJ Awards Ibiza and DJ of the Year from Mixmag Magazine.

Labels, clubs and projects

Solomun heads Diynamic Music and runs two labels, Diynamic and 2DIY4. He also runs EGO, described as one of the most respected underground clubs in Germany, and presents the Diynamic Radio Show, which broadcasts in more than 30 countries.

He also holds a regular Ibiza night called Solomun +1 at Pacha. His work is linked to a DIY approach, and his productions are described as emotive, visceral and authentic, with a style that combines deepness, funkiness and human vocals.
