Slomosa

Slomosa is a stoner rock and desert rock group from Bergen, Norway. The band forms in 2016 and is active from then to the present. It consists of Benjamin Berdous, Tor Erik Bye, Jard Hole and Marie Moe.

Style and background

The group develops a heavy sound that it describes as Tundra Rock, drawing on American desert rock from the 1990s. Its music also takes influence from Kyuss, Elder and Black Sabbath. The band combines heavy riffs with groove, raw vocals and distorted guitars.

Career

Slomosa comes together in Bergen, a city often described as Norway’s music capital, after the members grow up in western Norway. The band plays its debut concert in late 2017 and secures a record deal before releasing any music. It builds a following through regular live shows in its hometown.

The band begins releasing singles in 2019, starting with Horses, which premieres on Norwegian national radio. Two further singles, There is Nothing New Under the Sun and In My Mind's Desert, continue to build its profile, and its music appears on Spotify’s Stoner Rock playlist. Slomosa releases its self-titled debut album in 2020.
