Slayyyter is an American pop singer and songwriter from St. Louis, Missouri. Born Catherine Grace Garner in 1996, she works in pop and hyperpop and often draws on late 1990s and early 2000s popular culture in her imagery and sound.

Early career

She attends the University of Missouri for one year before leaving to focus on music. She begins uploading lo-fi, 1980s-influenced tracks to SoundCloud under the name Slater, then adopts the name Slayyyter in 2018.

Singles and first releases

Her debut single, “BFF”, appears in 2018 and features Ayesha Erotica. In February 2019, she releases “Mine”, which gains traction on social media and reaches number 38 on the U.S. iTunes pop chart within 24 hours. Later in 2019, she undertakes her first headlining tour, The Mini Tour, with dates including New York City and St. Louis.

In September 2019, she independently releases her self-titled mixtape, Slayyyter. The release reaches number 4 on the U.S. iTunes Pop chart and number 14 on the overall iTunes albums chart, and it helps expand her online fanbase.

Albums

Her debut studio album, Troubled Paradise, arrives in 2021 through Fader Label. It includes production work from Wuki and Gupi and receives generally positive critical attention for development in both production and songwriting. The track “Daddy AF” later appears in the soundtracks of the films Bodies Bodies Bodies and Anora.

In 2023, she releases her second studio album, Starfucker. It is an 1980s-inspired pop record that addresses celebrity culture and media image. The album debuts at number 17 on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and later peaks at number 10. She supports it with the Club Valentine Tour, which runs from October 2023 to February 2024 across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

She makes her first Boiler Room appearance in February 2024, then releases the single “No Comma” in September 2024. In 2025, she collaborates with Kesha on “ATTENTION!” and joins her on the Tits Out Tour.

Later releases and live work

In 2025 and 2026, she signs with Columbia Records and releases a series of singles from her third studio album, WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA, including “BEAT UP CHANEL$”, “CANNIBALISM!”, “CRANK”, “DANCE...” and “OLD TECHNOLOGY”. The album is released as a visual album, with each track paired with its own music video or visualizer. It debuts at number one on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart and at number 22 on the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 27,000 equivalent units.

She makes her Coachella debut in 2026, where her afternoon set draws a record-breaking crowd for that slot. She later performs “BROKE BITCH FREE$TYLE” as the opening track of her week two set.
