Sketchbeat
Sketchbeat are an alternative funk rock four-piece formed in November 2005 by Ed Webber on drums, Paul Daron on vocals, Mike Spencer Chapman on trumpet and Rich Cummings on bass. The band develops a style that combines rock, funk, jazz, hip hop and drum and bass, with trumpet riffs, guitar hooks, piano, punchy drums and four-part harmonies. Their live show is described as energetic and built around those elements.
Career
The group wins a National Battle of the Bands competition in August 2006. In 2007, London audiences vote them into the top four Best Live Bands at the Indy Awards, which recognise live music in the city. Sketchbeat split amicably in January 2009. Paul Daron continues with future projects.
