Sierra Ferrell is an American singer-songwriter from Charleston, United States, who is based in Nashville, Tennessee. Her music sits across alternative country, americana, contemporary country, country, neo-traditional country, and progressive country.

Early life and development

Ferrell grows up in West Virginia and begins singing Shania Twain songs in a local bar at the age of seven. In her early 20s, she leaves home and travels across the United States with a group of wandering musicians. She spends years living in a van and busking on the streets of New Orleans and Seattle before moving to Nashville, where she starts to secure regular performances.

Career

Ferrell draws the attention of Rounder Records and signs with the label in 2019. She performs at festivals including The Avett Brothers at the Beach, AmericanaFest, and Out on The Weekend. She also shares stages with Trampled by Turtles, Parker Millsap, Charley Crockett, and The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band.
