Sick on the Bus
Sick on the Bus are a punk group from Northampton. They form in late 1990 from the then disbanded Varukers, with Biff on guitar, Brian on bass, Kev on drums and Doug on vocals. Their early set includes around eight original songs, along with covers of the Damned and the UK Subs.
Line-up changes and early activity
After the first period of activity, the line-up changes several times over the next three years. Biff takes over vocals, Tony joins on second guitar, and a full-time drummer called Paul completes a more stable line-up. The band records a new demo, a single and a 16-track CD, but Paul dies from leukaemia before the CD is mixed. Wag, formerly of Legion of Parasites, then joins on drums.
Recordings and releases
The band releases Suck on Sick on the Bus fuck heads, which draws attention from the music press for both live and studio work. They later release Punk Police on Data Records. Their sold-out self-titled CD is remixed and reissued as Set Fire To Someone In Authority. The band also begins writing new material.
Tours and later activity
Sick on the Bus tour Europe with Contempt and later play further European dates and a US tour. They also tour the UK as main support to The Damned. In 2001, they enter a three-album deal with Go Kart Records.
